Women's Lacrosse Named IWLCA Academic Honor Squad

PAINESVILLE, Ohio--The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recognized the Lake Erie College women's lacrosse team for their academic success this season, naming them a 2014 Academic Honor Squad.

The Storm has been named an Academic Honor Squad in all five of their seasons.

To earn this honor through the IWLCA, the school must have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.  Lake Erie is one of 45 Division-II schools on the list.  A total of 254 schools were chosen between the three NCAA divisions. 

The Storm earned five spots on Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic teams this year. Alex Freeman (Syracuse, N.Y./Jamesville-Dewitt) and Ashriel West (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team while Hana Abu-Kwiek (Lewis Center, N.Y./Olentangy), Samantha Gryba (Okotoks, Alberta/National Sport Academy) and Katie Holden (Whitby, Ontario/Anderson C.V.I.) were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team.
