Freeman and West Earn IWLCA Academic Honors

GRAND LAKE, Colo.-- A pair of Lake Erie College women's lacrosse players were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA)  Division-II Academic Honor Roll, released by the Association Tuesday (August 19).

Alex Freeman (Syracuse, N.Y/Jamesville Dewitt) and Ashriel West (Jamesville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) earned the IWLCA honors.

To be named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be at least a junior and earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.  This year, 149 student-athletes from 45 Division-II institutions earned the honors.

Freeman, a biology major, earned the honor for the first time.  In addition to this academic honor, Freeman was also named to the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic Excellence Team.

West, an early childhood education major, earned the honor for the second straight year.  West was also named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team in addition to being named a recipient of the 2014 Spring Meijer GLIAC Commissioner's Award.
