2012 Storm Open Information
EVENT
Lake Erie College will host the Storm Open wrestling tournament on
Saturday Jan. 7, 2012 campus at the Jerome T. Osborne Family
Athletic and Wellness Center in Painesville, Ohio (Directions).
The event will be a double-elimination tournament in each weight
class, wrestling to six places. There will be no team
score.
RULES AND FORMATS
Each match will follow NCAA rules: seven-minute matches with riding
times. Brackets will be fielded in ten weight NCAA weight
classes: 125, 133, 141, 149, 157, 165, 174, 184, 197, 285. Entrants
may only compete in one weight class.
SKIN CHECKS
Skin checks will be performed by certified staff and begin promptly
at 7:45 a.m. on day of event.
WHO MAY PARTICIPATE
Participants must be collegiate-level wrestlers or have graduated
high school. No high school wrestlers will be permitted to
participate.
SCHEDULE
7:45 a.m. – Skin checks
8:00 a.m. – Weigh-ins
10:00 a.m. – Wrestling begins
COST
$30 per wrestler

REGISTRATION
All entries must be received by Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012.
Registration is limited to the first 200 wrestlers. Register early
to guarantee a spot in the tournament. Entries can be emailed
