Women's Soccer Begins 2016 Campaign against Daeman (Preview)

PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College women's soccer team will open the 2016 season with a matinee matchup with the Wildcats of Daeman College on Thursday (September 1st). The season opener against the Wildcats will kick off at 1:00 PM from Jack Britt Memorial Stadium.

Storm Report: The Storm is kicking off the 2016 season under a first year head coach. Reni Lawrence was promoted from an assistant coach position during the 2015 season to the head coach spot this season. Lake Erie is coming off of an 4-12-2 season overall.

Preseason Rankings: For the Preseason GLIAC Coaches Poll, the Storm were selected to finish 10th in the conference. Grand Valley State was voted the favorite to win the conference.

Series History: Lake Erie holds a 2-0 series lead against Daeman. In 2014, the Storm defeated the Wildcats 1-0 at home. Last season, Lake Erie got goals from Alecia Dipre, Ashley Pryce, and Elizabeth Awuah in a 3-1 road triumph.

Opposition Position: The Wildcats are opening the 2016 season with the road matchup with the Storm. Daeman finished the 2015 season with a 7-10-1 record.

Storm Forecast: The Storm will open the road portion of the 2016 schedule with a matchup against the Urbana Blue Knights on Sunday (September 3rd).
