Panthers Shutout Storm, 2-0

COLUMBUS, Ohio- Despite taking 16 shots in the game, the Lake Erie College women's soccer team could not find the back of the net as they fell to the Ohio Dominican Panthers 2-0 on Friday (Oct. 21) night.

With the fourth straight loss, the Storm fell to 7-8 overall and 2-7 in the GLIAC.

In the 8th minute, Ohio Dominican jumped out to a 1-0 lead after the Panthers took advantage of a failed clear of the box. Alli Pavlik scored her sixth goal of the year, making 1-0 Panthers.

Ohio Dominican held a 1-0 lead at halftime as they took 13 shots in the first half. Lake Erie took 11 but could not score.

The Panthers added an insurance goal in the 60th minute as Susan D'Isidoro converted a penalty kick.

In the second half, Ohio Dominican outshot the Storm 10-5. For the game, the Panthers won the shot battle 23-16.

Elizabeth Awuah (Pickerington, Ohio / Pickerington Central) took nine shots for the Storm.

Marissa Brannon (Concord, Ohio / Lake Catholic) made eight saves in goal and allowed two goals.

The Storm will return to Painesville as they will host the University of Findlay on Sunday (Oct. 23) for Senior Day at 1:00 PM.
