Lake Erie Pushes to Four Games

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (October 8, 2008) - Lake Erie College pushed the match to four games, but fell short in the end, losing to the visiting University of Northwestern Ohio, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17, 25-11. Freshmen Jenni Laureno (Lyndhurst, Ohio/Brush) and Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) made some big plays at the net, combining for 13 block assists and eight kills.

As a team, the Storm totaled 65 digs with Lauren Johnson (Wellington, Ohio/Keystone), Erica Muniak (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) and Katie Yanesh (Wickliffe, Ohio/NDCL) each recording double figure totals of 15, 12 and 10 digs respectively. Yanesh led the team with eight kills and freshman Lauren Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) had 16 assists.

Lake Erie (4-12) remains at home Saturday when it hosts Gannon at 1 p.m.
