A-B Takes Final Two Sets to Defeat Storm

PAINESVILLE, OHIO - After splitting two close games, Alderson-Broaddus College pulled away in the final two for a 3-1 victory over the Lake Erie College volleyball team on Saturday afternoon (Sept. 19) in Philipi, W. Va.

The Storm (6-10) dropped the first game 27-25 but rallied to take set two 25-23. The Battlers came back for a 25-9 win in set three, followed by a 25-17 win in the fourth and final set.

Despite the loss, sophomore right side Michelle Naab (North Royalton, Ohio) had seven kills and four blocks to lead the Storm. Freshman hitter Mary Walter (Solon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) also had seven kills. Sophomore setters Lauren Bogatay (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) and Krista O'Connor (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) had 17 and 11 set assists, respectively. Freshman defensive specialist Paige Baldauf (Marion, Ohio/Marion Pleasant) had 19 digs on defense.

The Storm will look to snap its current seven-match losing streak on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Tiffin University (7 p.m.).
