CANTON, Ohio—The Lake Erie College women's volleyball team fell at Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Malone University in straight sets on Friday (Oct. 26) in Canton.
Malone (14-8, 7-5 GLIAC) won the sets 25-19, 25-20, 25-8.
The Storm (3-18, 0-12 GLIAC) were able to pressure the Pioneers in the opening sets, but were unable to come away with a set win.
Juniors Molly Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) led the Storm with eight kills apiece. Hoppe also added eight digs. Senior Rachel Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) led the Storm's defensive front with 10 digs.
The Pioneers were led by Hannah Haver and Dianna Wallace, who combined for 19 kills. Katie Hasebein added seven digs.
The Storm return to action on Saturday (Oct. 26), traveling to Walsh University (7-13, 4-8 GLIAC) for a 2 pm match in North Canton.
