Storm Falls on Final Day of GLIAC/GLVC Crossover

AURORA, Ill.-- The Lake Erie College volleyball team was unable to pick up a win on the final day of the GLIAC/GLVC Crossover Tournament, falling to Saint Joseph's College of Indiana in straight sets (25-15, 25-23, 25-15). 

The Storm was on offense by Molly Richardson (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Mary Walter (Solon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) who had nine kills apiece. Samantha Knepley (Munith, Mich./Stockbridge), Jamie Hoppe (Green Springs, Ohio/Clyde) and Sara Aultz (Wooster, Ohio/Orrville) all had six kills. Knepley also had a team-high 12 digs while Kathryn Ferry (Lima, Ohio/Lima Central Catholic) had nine digs. 

Peyton Mckenzie led St. Joseph's with 10 kills while Alyssa Guarnaccia had 12 digs. 

Overall, the GLIAC and GLVC tied at 24 wins apiece but GLVC claimed the crown on the sets win tiebreaker. 

The Storm returns to home GLIAC action Friday (Nov. 1), playing host to Malone University.
