Storm Falls to Walsh, 3-0

NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Lake Erie College volleyball team was defeated today (October 25th)by Walsh University, 3-0.  With the loss the Storm fall to 2-20 overall and 0-13 in the conference, and with the win the Cavaliers improve to 2-19 overall and 2-11 in conference play. 

The offense for the Storm was led by freshman hitter Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill. / Bishop Noll) and freshman hitter Madison Russell (Westerville, Ohio / Westerville South) who had nine and eight kills respectively.  Lake Erie had 26 kills and Walsh had 44 kills, the game high in kills was 13 by Kelsey Snider of Walsh.

Defensively, the Storm was led by junior Kathryn Ferry (Lima, Ohio / Lima Central Catholic) who had nine digs and freshman Sidney Fletcher (Saline, Mich. / Saline)  who had eight digs in the match.  In total Lake Erie had 51 digs and Walsh had 60 digs, and 13 was the high mark in digs posted by Kaitlin Bronikowski of Walsh. 

The Storm will be back in action when they travel to take on Ashland University on Tuesday (October 28th) at 7 P.M.
