ERIE, Pa.-- The Lake Erie College men's cross country team opened the season on a high note, capturing the top three individual spots and second-place overall as a team at the Penn State Behrend Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 14).
Sophomore Nick Hall (Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) captured the top individual spot for the men with a time of 25:34.7. Freshman Conor Gordon (Burke, N.Y./Franklin Academy) finished behind Hall with a time of 25:40.0 to capture second-place. Classmate Jake Graham (Gomer, Ohio/Columbus Grove) picked up the third-place spot with a time of 25:35.3 to help the Storm secure the top three overall spots. Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio/Stow) finished in 15th and Michael Dahman (Greene, Ohio/Maplewood) took 24th to round out the Storm top-five.
As a team, the Storm took second-place, with only Fredonia State University having a better score.
On the women's side, senior Shanita Fluker (Flint, Mich./Flint Southwestern) had the top finish for the Storm, placing 24th with a time of 20:12.1.
The Storm race again next Saturday (Sept. 21) at the Edinboro Rag Relays.
