INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Lake Erie College athletic department has been awarded the NCAA Division II Ethnic Minorities and Women's Internship Grant for the 2018-19 school year. A national search has begun to fill the position.
The NCAA Division II Women's and Ethnic Minorities Internship Grant funds a full-time, entry-level athletics administrative position for the 2018-19 academic year. This grant is designed to provide financial assistance to the division's member schools and conferences that are committed to enhancing ethnic minority and gender representation in entry-level, intercollegiate athletics administrative positions.
The position will have various different responsibilities in the athletic department. The majority of the positions responsibilities will be split between sponsorship activation and developing student-athlete enhancement programs. The intern will also be in charge of organizing community engagement and service events for the department as well as assisting the athletic director with special events.
Director of Athletics Kelley Kish concluded, "Lake Erie College athletics is excited to provide this opportunity for a hands-on entry-level position in the areas of special events, fundraising and student-athlete enhancement.
