BAY CITY, Mich.—Four members of the Lake Erie College baseball team earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) honors announced by the conference Wednesday (May 6).
Center fielder Aaron Lindgren (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) led the Storm honorees with a spot on the First-Team. Third-baseman Zak DeCamp (Ganhanna, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) was named to the Second-Team while pitcher Brandon Grunda (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria) and utility player Louie Peterlin (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) were named Honorable Mentions.
Lindgren finished the season with a .326 batting average. He accounted for 39 runs and 33 RBIs. Of his 45 hits, 14 were doubles, three were triples and eight were homeruns. With 19 walks, Lindgren had an on-base percentage of .409. Lindgren had 14 multi-hit and seven multi-RBI games. Against Mercyhurst University on April 1, Lindgren had a season-high six RBIs. In the Storm's finale against Hillsdale College on May 3, Lindgren had a season-high four hits.
DeCamp led the Storm with a .333 batting average. He accounted for 31 runs and 41 RBIs. DeCamp had 47 hits with nine doubles, two triples and seven homeruns. With 18 walks, he had an on-base percentage of .423. DeCamp had 13 multi-hit and 12 multi-RBI games. Against the University of Sciences, DeCamp had a season-high six hits and six RBIs.
Grunda was the go-to pitcher in the Storm bullpen this season, picking up eight saves and two wins. In 38.2 innings of action, Grunda accumulated an ERA of just 2.56. He averaged 4.89 strikeouts per game. Opposing batters hit just .238 against him.
Peterlin spent time for the Storm in the outfield, behind the plate and as the designated hitter. He hit .309 with six doubles. Peterlin also scored 17 runs and had 14 RBIs. He had 13 multi-hit games throughout the season. At Grand Valley State University, Peterlin had a season-high three hits.
