ELKINS, W. Va.—The Lake Erie College baseball team returned to the diamond Friday (March 18) for the first two games of a four-game series at Davis & Elkins College.
The Storm won game one 14-1 but fell in game two 5-4.
Russell Lamovec (Willoughby Hills, Ohio/Willoughby South) had his first career start for the Storm. He carried a perfect game into the sixth inning. The freshman finished the game giving up one hit and one earned run while fanning four batters in six innings of work.
Lucas Raley (Hinckley, Ohio/Medina Highland) led the Storm offense. He went three-of-four with three runs, seven RBI, a triple, a grand slam and was walked once. Austin Bovenzi (Fairport, N.Y./McQuaid Jesuit) went three-of-three with one walk and a RBI. Tyler Hissom (Chippewa Lake, Ohio/Cloverleaf) recorded his first career hit.
Brian Bullock (Loveland, Ohio/Loveland) started on the mound for the Storm. He went four innings giving up two earned runs on three hits with no walks and one strikeout.
The Storm is back in action Saturday (March 18) for the final two games of the series.
