PAINESVILLE, Ohio- The Lake Erie College baseball team will take a break from Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with a non-conference matchup with Gannon University on Thursday (March 23) on the road. The Storm will return back home for a four game series with the University of Findlay Oilers on Saturday (March 25) and Sunday (March 26).
Thursday's game will be nine innings and start at 1:00 PM. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1:00 PM and Sunday's doubleheader is set to start at 12:00 PM.
Storm Report: The Storm is 5-10 overall and 0-4 in the conference so far this season. Lake Erie was swept in a four game series at Walsh this week. Caleb Waller leads the team with a .333 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 16 hits.
Opposition Position: Gannon is 9-5 on the season with the leading hitter, Ethan Quiceno, batting .440 for the season. The Oilers are 11-3 this season and 2-2 in the GLIAC. Peter Yorgen is leading the Oilers with a .438 batting average and 12 RBI.
Series History: Lake Erie has a 2-3 record against the Golden Knights in the series history. The Storm and the Oilers have faced off 17 times since the Storm joined the GLIAC. Lake Erie has won 11 of the 17 games, including all four games last season.
