PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will continue Great Midwest play this weekend with two doubleheaders against the South Division at Classic Park. The Storm will host the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans on Saturday (March 31), starting at 10:00 AM. Lake Erie will host the Kentucky Wesleyan College Panthers on Sunday (April 1) with a twinbill beginning at 12:30 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie has won seven of their last eight games as the Storm has started conference play with a 7-1 record. With four straight wins, Lake Erie is now 9-9-1 overall. The Storm swept doubleheaders against Davis & Elkins and Alderson Broaddus on Sunday (March 25) and Monday (March 26). Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) leads the team with a .389 batting average, 28 hits, 20 runs, seven homeruns and 17 RBI.
Opposition Position: Trevecca is 12-15 overall and 3-5 in the G-MAC so far this season. The Trojans fell in a doubleheader against Findlay last weekend. Sam Mang leads the Trojans with a .326 batting average, nine homeruns and 28 RBI. Kentucky Wesleyan is 12-13 overall and 2-6 in the conference following a sweep at the hands of Hillsdale last weekend. The Panthers will face #15 Ohio Dominican on Saturday before coming to Eastlake. Cody Bridges has a .441 batting average with a team-high 41 hits and 23 runs.
Series History: Lake Erie has not met either team in the series history before.
