PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College baseball team will begin Great Midwest North Division play on Sunday (April 8) afternoon with a doubleheader against the #16 Ohio Dominican University Panthers. The Storm will host the Panthers at Classic Park with a doubleheader, starting at 1:00 PM.
Storm Report: Lake Erie is 11-11-1 overall and 9-3 in the G-MAC after the Storm dropped a doubleheader against Kentucky Wesleyan by two 8-4 scores on April 1st. Trace Peterson (Medina, Ohio / Medina) leads the team with a .376 batting average, 23 runs, 32 hits, eight homeruns and 18 RBI.
Opposition Position: Ohio Dominican is 20-5 overall and 9-1 in the G-MAC as the 16th ranked team in the NBCWA Coaches Poll. The Panthers split a doubleheader with Kentucky Wesleyan on March 31st. Colin Kaucher leads the Panthers with a .443 batting average, 39 hits and 41 RBI.
Series History: Ohio Dominican holds a 15-11 advantage in the series from the two schools' time in the GLIAC. The teams did not play one another last season but the Storm won three of four games against ODU in the 2016 season.
Storm Forecast: The Storm will host Fairmont State on Tuesday (April 10) in a doubleheader before hosting Ohio Dominican for a single game on Wednesday (April 11).
