2010: Started first six games of the season before lingering foot injury resulted in him missing the rest of the season... voted one of four team captains at the end of the season, the second straight year he was recognized by his teammates as such... was leading the team with 49 total tackles at time of injury... made 12 tackles, including 3.5 for losses and two sacks in the season opener at Gannon on 9/2... had a season-high 13 stops at Saginaw Valley State on 9/18... made six tackles with a sack in the near-upset at Hillsdale on 9/25... totaled 22 solo tackles and 27 assisted for the year, with 5.5 TFL's and three sacks.
2009: Played in all 11 games, making eight starts… selected as one of three team captains for season… named team’s defensive player of the year… led squad in tackles with 86 total, including 42 solo… had 4.5 tackles for loss and broke up five passes… also forced and recovered a fumble… had three games with double figures in tackles, including a school record-tying 18 (11 solo) at Saint Joseph’s on 9/19… made 14 tackles vs. Ohio Dominican on 10/2 and 11 stops vs. Kentucky Wesleyan on 10/31.
2008: Saw action in all 11 games as a back-up linebacker and on special teams as a true freshman… made 22 total tackles, including 13 solo… made a season-high nine stops (seven solo) at Salisbury on 10/18… also forced a fumble in that game.
PRIOR TO LAKE ERIE: Was a four-year standout in both football and track at North Royalton High School… on the gridiron, was a second-team All-Ohio selection and Northern Ohio Conference defensive Player of the Year… earned first-team all-league in track and field in both the shot put and discus.
PERSONAL: Born June 8, 1988… majoring in business… parents are Charles and Joan Armbruster… sister Laura was a Mid-American Conference champion swimmer at Miami University.
