QUICK NOTES: After opening the season 1-0 for the first time, the Lake Erie College football team kicks off conference play this weekend on the road at Michigan Technological University… Lake Erie rallied from 10 points down behind a dominating defensive effort to knock off traditional rival Gannon University in its opener last Thursday night, 13-10… senior OLB Kevin Chapman led the way for LEC with a career-high 14 tackles, 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery and was named Defensive Player of the Week by both the GLIAC and d2football.com… Gus Armbruster had seven tackles and a game-sealing interception in his return to the lineup after missing the second half of last year due to foot surgery… the Storm welcomes back three starters and three key defensive reserves for week 2, including quarterback Sean Bedevelsky who led the conference in total offense in 2010… Michigan Tech defeated Winona State 23-6 in its opener last week and is coming off an 8-2 season and second-place GLIAC finish in 2010… the Huskies return 10 starters on a defense that allowed the fewest points in the league last season.
