STORM OPENS GLIAC PLAY: The Lake Erie College men's basketball opens 2013-14 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this weekend with a pair of away games against Ferris State University and Grand Valley State University.
RECENT RESULTS: The Storm fell on the road against Slippery Rock University, 75-55, Saturday (Nov. 30) in their final nonconference game of the season.
STORM NOTES: Senior guard Riley Thomas leads the Storm in scoring this season at 20.5 ppg... Thomas has scored 20 or more points in four of the past five games and had a season-high 26 points against the Southern Indiana November 23... Andy Bosley continues to be an efficient shooter, starting the season shooting 70.4% (19-of--27)... the sophomore guard is averaging 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds a contest... Freshman forward Michael Morris is starting is collegiate career on the right track, averaging 8.3 ppg... Senior center Garrick Sims is shooting 67.4% from the floor and is averaging 11.5 ppg. and 5.5 rpg. in 23.8 minutes... He had his biggest offensive performamance of the season against Slippery Rock, netting 17 points... The Storm is living from the three-point line this season, averaging 24.2 attempts a game ... As a unit, Lake Erie has turned the ball over 10.5 times a game while forcing their opponents to commit 14.7.
