PAINESVILLE, Ohio— The Lake Erie College men's basketball team was victorious in the home exhibition against Hiram College, 84-63, Thursday night (Oct. 30).
The Storm took a 47-27 lead into the half after a fast paced start the game. They outscored the Terriers 43-36 in the second half to seal the win.
Collin Barth (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) led the Storm scores with 14 points, hitting four-of-five (80%) three point shots. Three other Storm players also scored in double figures. Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) and Andy Bosley (Columbus, Ohio/Orange) had 11 points each while Roy Alexander (Columbus, Ohio/Walnut Ridge) had 10. Steve Walczak (Columbus, Ohio/Olentangy) had a team-high seven rebounds to go with his eight points. Nick Wells (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) and Trey Howard (Lima, Ohio/Lima Shawnee) had six points apiece while Michael Morris (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine), Nick Deitsch (Lewis Center, Ohio/Orange) and Jordan Michael (Fairborn, Ohio/Fairborn) had five points each.
The Storm opens their regular season Nov. 15 at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
