The Lake Erie College men's basketball team concludes their 2015-16 season on the road at 11th-ranked Ashland University for a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) showdown.
"Playing our last game of the season at Ashland, who is the 11th ranked team in the country, on their senior night is a real challenge," said Storm Head Coach Cliff Hunt. "At 23-4, Ashland has put together a great season and we will have our hands full on Thursday. They are a very athletic team with a lot of speed and quickness at their perimeter positions. We had a tough time keeping in front of them at our place. But, that being said, we lost in overtime and a couple of calls or plays going our way would have gotten us the win. We will need to play another very solid game on both sides of the ball to end our season with a win."
LAST TIME OUT: The Storm fell to Ohio Dominican University 95-71. Trey Howard led the Storm with 18 points. Andy Bosley finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Sean Howard had 12 points and three assists while Michael Morris also finished with 12 points. Brogan Scott had eight points off the bench.
SERIES HISTORY: The Storm is 3-8 all-time against the Eagles. Earlier this season, the Storm erased a second half deficit with a 20-0 run but inevitably fell in overtime to the Eagles 87-79. The past two meetings between the schools have gone into overtime.
OPPOSITION POSITION: The Eagles enter the game with a 23-4 record and a 17-4 mark in GLIAC play. They currently sit in first place in the South Division and have clinched at least one home game in the GLIAC postseason. The Eagles are riding a ten game winning streak, most recently defeating Tiffin University. Offensively, they are led by Wendell Davis, who averages 17.9 points per game.
1K CLUB: Storm senior Andy Bosley is just three points away from the joining the Storm's 1,000 point club. This season, he is averaging 14.4 points per game, the highest single season total of his career.
