PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's basketball team will be in action Thursday (Dec. 7) as they travel to take on Ohio Valley and Saturday (Dec. 9) when they host Shawnee State. The games are set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. respectively.
Storm Report: The Storm is 4-3 on the season, and will open Great Midwest Athletic Conference play on the road against Ohio Valley. The Storm enters the match coming off an 81-78 victory over Daemen College. Head Coach Kyle Conley said, "As a program, we are excited about moving to the G-MAC and we look forward to playing in a competitive conference built of schools similar to Lake Erie".
Opposition Position: The Fighting Scots are 1-3 overall and 0-1 in Great Midwest action, and are coming off a 98-68 loss to Wright State. Coach Conley said, "Ohio Valley has a good offensive team, as they have five guys who can score the ball. We need to defend at all positions." Shawnee State is 6-2 and coming off a win over Wilberforce University. Coach Conley added, "Coach Thomas has done a great job in his first season as he has his team off to a good start. Shawnee will press and try to speed up the pace of the game".
Coach Conley concluded, "Winning a conference game on the road is difficult, we need to play with good effort". Against Shawnee we need to be prepared to defend, and control the pace of the game while playing efficiently on the offensive side of the ball".
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the hardwood Thursday (Dec. 14) when they travel to take on Alderson Broaddus, with the game set to tip at 7:30 p.m.
