PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's basketball team will be in action Thursday (Feb. 15) against Ohio Dominican and Saturday (Feb. 17) against Cedarville, with the games set to tip at 5:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. respectively.
Storm Report: The Storm is 12-12 overall and 7-9 in Great Midwest Athletic Conference action. The Storm is coming off a tough 78-67 loss to Hillsdale. Head Coach Kyle Conley said, "We understand what we are trying to do as a team. We have put together two great days of practice, and we control our own destiny to advance into the Great Midwest Athletic Conference tournament."
Opposition Position: The Panthers are 14-10 overall and 9-8 in conference play, and they are coming off a 65-48 win over Hillsdale. Coach Conley said, "They are defending at a high level, and their senior guards are making big baskets." The Yellow Jackets are 11-13 overall and 6-11 in Great Midwest action, and are coming off a loss to Findlay. Coach Conley added, "Cedarville is running a smaller lineup and can really shoot the ball. We need to defend the three point line, and be prepared to run zone offense."
Coach Conley concluded, "We are learning that February basketball is a different animal, and it is allowing us to play with a sense of urgency to reach our goals as a team."
Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the hardwood Thursday (Feb. 22) when they host Walsh, with the game set to at 5:30 p.m.
