Storm Slam Ohio Valley 93-64

(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – Eleven different players found the scoring column with four starters reaching double-figures as Lake Erie handled Ohio Valley 93-64 in G-MAC play Saturday afternoon. The Storm (14-8, 9-5) also had their best night shooting with a 52.9 percent success rate against the Fighting Scots (8-13, 3-12).

Ohio Valley came in with the second-best shot blocker in the nation in David Adeyemo, but he was largely held in check for the majority of the game thanks to Lamont Rhodes, Brogan Scott, Kevin Peterson, and David Dunnigan.

The quartet nearly equaled the Scots in total rebounds with 22 combined compared to the 28 totaled by OVU. As a team, the Storm dominated the glass with 44 total caroms. Rhodes led the way with 11 for another double-double as he totaled 11 points.

Gabe Kynard, Erron James, and Jordan Humphrey were the other three to reach double-figures. Kynard led the team with 16 points on 5-of-8 from the field and 3-of-5 from distance. Humphrey was 6-of-14 with six boards and four assists. James was also 5-of-8 from the field for 13 points and added three assists and three steals.

Both teams equaled each other for the opening part of the game, but Ennis Thomas sparked the Storm attack with a 3-pointer. It started a 20-4 run that put the Green and White in front for good.

Lake Erie led by as many as 34 after a James layup made it 87-53.

The Storm will return to action on Valentine's Day as they host Findlay. Tip-off with the Oilers is set for 7:30 p.m.
