(CANTON, Ohio) – A pair of playoff teams will square off tomorrow afternoon as Lake Erie heads down I-77 to take on Malone. The Storm (16-11, 11-8) have solidified the No. 6 seed in the G-MAC Tournament next week, while the Pioneers (15-12, 9-10) are licked in at the No. 7 spot.
As a result, this game is for bragging rights. The road team has won the last three with Malone taking a 67-64 victory at the Osborne Center in January. Now the Green and White will look to balance the season series at Osborne Hall. A win, however, would set a new record for overall wins in a season in the Division II era for Lake Erie. Last Saturday's win at Tiffin already set the new record for conference wins.
Two of the G-MAC's top scorers will be featured as Gabe Kynard and Nate Sheppard square off once again. Kynard is third in the league with 18.1 points per game. Sheppard tops the list at 19.4 an outing.
Regardless of the result, both teams will be on the road Tuesday. The Storm will travel to either Hillsdale or Cedarville, while Malone will make the short trip north to Walsh.
