Linksters Tied for Fourth After Opening Round at Mt. Union Invitational

DAY ONE RESULTS

PAINESVILLE, OHIO - On the strength of its best round of the fall season, the Lake Erie College men's golf team is tied for fourth place after the first day (Sept. 27) of the Mount Union College Fall Invitational at Alliance Country Club. The Storm's team score of 302 is tied with Notre Dame College and is just a shot behind third-place Mt. Union.

John Carroll University is in first place at 291, followed by Baldwin-Wallace College.

Leading the way was junior Mike Meyers (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) with a 2-over 74. Meyers is tied for ninth place. Sophomore Frank Whites (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) and freshman Mike Guarino (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) are tied for 11th place after opening round 75s. 

Junior C.J. Milo (Painesville, Ohio/Mentor) and senior Steve Bragg (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) rounded out the Lake Erie contingent with scores of 78 and 79, respectively.

The second and final round begins Monday at 11 a.m.
