EAST LANSING, MICH. -- The Lake Erie College men's golf team concluded the fall portion of its schedule Monday (Oct. 7) with the third and final round of the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Eagle Eye Golf Course in East Lansing, Mich.
Battling adverse weather conditions for the second straight day, the Storm ended the three-day event in 14th place with a team score of 995 (331-322-342). Malone University won their first GLIAC championship with a score of 903, one stroke ahead of Ashland University.
Senior Tyler Walters (Middlefield, Ohio/Cardinal) and freshman Matt Frey (Broadview Heights, Ohio/Brecksville-Broadview Heights) tied for the team's best finish, sharing 62nd place at 248. Saginaw Valley State University's Wyatt Drost was the individual medalist.
