(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) – Head Coach Brody Harwell has inked his first recruit to the resurgent Lake Erie golf team as Jarrod Teeter signed a national letter of intent on Friday. Teeter hails from Johnstown, Ohio and will be graduating from Northridge High School next month.
The Storm will benefit greatly from his addition as Teeter brings with him an accomplished resume. Academically he's at the top of his class with a 4.3. On the links he was a First Team All-District and All-Licking County League selection.
He earned the latter honor this past season, but he was also a First Team All-LCL selection his sophomore season. Teeter medaled in two LCL tournaments, was an Ohio Central District qualifier, and shot a 75 to finish tied for second at the Division II Central District Tournament at Denison Golf Club where he lost in a playoff to advance to the state tournament to the eventual state champion.
Teeter played in competitive junior tournaments on the AJGA, Hurricane, and Golfweek Junior Tours. He was also named Iron Man by the Newark Advocate after he returned for the 2018 season after tearing his ACL twice in 2017.
"I'm thrilled that Jarrod is my first signee as Head Coach at Lake Erie College," said Coach Harwell. "Jarrod is a tremendous student athlete that excels in the classroom and on the golf course. He is a fierce competitor that loves golf and has overcome a lot of adversity as a student athlete. Jarrod will be a huge asset to the Lake Erie Golf Program and will be a foundational piece for years to come."
