Storm Ranked Eighth Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll

BALTIMORE, Md.--  The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team is pegged in the number eight slot in the 2014 Lacrosse Magazine Preseason Poll.

The Storm roster returns two All-Americans- defenseman Justin Goodwin (New Westminster, B.C./New Westminster Secondary) and midfielder Reagan Harding (Saskatoon, Sask./Bishop Jones Mahoney)- from last year's team which had their best season to date, qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Those two players, plus attackman Trevor Tarte (Amherstburg, Ontario/Kiski Prep), who led Division II in goals per game in 2013, were tabbed as Preseason All-Americans by

This is the third preseason honor for the Storm this year.  Lacrosse Magazine ranked the Storm as number eight in their Summer Rankings and put the Storm at number 10. 

Adelphi University is tabbed as the top team in the rankings, followed by 2013 DII National Champions, Le Moyne College.  National runner-up and 2013 ECAC Champion Mercyhurst University is in the three slot while LIU Post and Limestone College are selected as fourth and fifth respectively.  ECAC rival Seton Hill University is at the seventh slot behind the NYIT. Dowling College and Merrimack College round out the top ten.

The Storm square off with the seventh-ranked Griffins in Greensburg, Pa. on April 6 and the third-ranked Lakers in Erie, Pa. on April 26. 

Lake Erie begins the season March 5 on the road at Florida Southern College.
