Storm Hosts Tampa in Opening Round of NCAA Championships (PREVIEW)

The Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team hosts the University of Tampa in the opening round of the 2015 NCAA Division-II Men's Lacrosse Championships.

LAST TIME OUT: The Storm captured their second consecutive Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship last weekend, defeating Mercyhurst University and Lindenwood University.  Lucas Shafer was named MVP after netting five in the finals.

STORM REPORT: The Storm enters the tournament with the second-seed in the South Region after finishing the season with a 14-2 record.  They have toppled then first-ranked Limestone College, second-ranked Le Moyne College, ninth-ranked Tampa, 11th-ranked University of Mount Olive and Lindenwood, 13th-ranked Mercyhurst and 14th-ranked Belmont Abbey College this year.

SERIES HISTORY: The Storm and Spartans have met twice before, with each team holding serve on their home field.  Earlier this season, the Storm defeated the Spartans 13-7 in Painesville. Reagan Harding and Lucas Shafer had four goals apiece in the game.

OPPOSITION POSITION: The Spartans enter the game as the third-seed in the South Region after finishing the year with a 15-3 record and a Sunshine State Conference title.  Conor Whipple leads the Spartan's offense with 67 points this season.

FORECAST: The winner of the game will meet the winner of the Lindenwood/Limestone game next Saturday.
