PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The 19th ranked Lake Erie College men's lacrosse team will be in action Saturday (April 29) when they host eighth ranked Mercyhusrt, in the final game of the 2017 regular season.
Lake Erie and Mercyhurst are tied for the top spot in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) with the winner of the game earning the top seed and hosting the G-MAC playoffs.
Storm Report: The Storm is 7-6 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference play. The Storm is coming off a win over ninth ranked Mercy. Head Coach Steve Gartelman said " We are maintaining a laser focus on the moment & focusing on taking this week as an opportunity to go 1-0".
Opposition Position: The Lakers are 10-2 overall and 5-0 in the conference. The Lakers are on a four game winning streak and most recently coming off a win over Roberts Wesleyan. Coach Gartelman said "We will have to win the 1v1's. They have great athletes at all positions & are very well coached".
Coach Gartelman added " If we can win the match ups & be great at dominating the little plays throughout the game, we'll put ourselves in a great place to compete".
Forecast: Lake Erie will be back in action Thursday (May 4) as they will be in the G-MAC playoffs.
