Storm Battles Battlers for Win

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (October 8, 2008) - Lake Erie College earned its second win in a row by defeating Alderson-Broaddus, 2-1 Wednesday afternoon. A scoreless opening period and almost half of the second period was broken up on a goal by Storm sophomore Justin Mihaley (Lowellsville, Ohio/Ursuline). His third score of the season found the back of the net on a pass from sophomore Anthony Belviso (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) in the 70th minute.

Alderson-Broaddus scored in the 74th minute to tie the game, but the Storm netted the final goal of the match for the win on a shot by sophomore Asim Eltinay (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights).  Mihaly was credited with the assist.

Lake Erie totaled just eight shots on the day, four each half, as the Battlers racked up 13, nine of which were on goal. Storm keeper Clay Bolton (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) recorded eight saves.

Lake Erie (4-10) is off until Oct. 15 when it travels to Tiffin at 3 p.m.
