Final Home Game Ends With Heartbreak

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (October 25, 2008) - Playing in its last home game of the season, Lake Erie College looked as if it could pull out a win in the final minutes of the match against Northwood University. Most aspects of the game were fairly even the entire 90 minutes. Both teams totaled seven shots in the game, three each in the first half and four each in the second. Neither team scored in the first half with each team committing six fouls in the period.

It wasn't until the 82nd minute when a ball that was bouncing around in front of the net off of numerous legs found its way into the Lake Erie net, giving the visiting Northwood team the 1-0 advantage. Storm keeper Clay Bolton (Poland, Ohio/Poland Seminary) had five saves in the closely contested match.

Lake Erie (4-18) will finish out the season at Lock Haven next Saturday at 3 p.m.
