PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College men's soccer team was in action today as they were defeated by the Ohio Dominican Panthers, 3-2.
Ohio Dominican opened the scoring in the game with a pair of goals, the goals came at the 10 minute and 19 minute mark. The Panthers added a third goal late in the first half and took a 3-0 lead into the intermission.
The Storm showed some fight in the second half as they got on the scoreboard with just over 24 minutes remaining in the game. Miguel Espinoza (Perry, Ohio / Perry) drew a foul in the box and Andrew Bucur (Bedford, Ohio / St. Peter Chanel) calmly converted the penalty kick to make the score, 3-1. Lake Erie cut the Panthers lead to one when Callum Davidson (Mercyside, England / Liverpool Football Club Foundation College) found the back of the net, to make the score, 3-2 in favor of Ohio Dominican.
Lake Erie will return to the field Saturday (Oct. 14) when they host the University of Findlay on Senior Day with the game set to start at 3 p.m.
