PAINESVILLE, OHIO - Lake Erie College will host its first-ever indoor track and field meet this Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Geneva Area Recreational, Educational, Athletic Trust (GaREAT) Sports Complex. The Lake Erie Mid-Week Track & Field Open will feature approximately seven schools.
The meet will begin at 4 p.m. with the women's indoor pentathlon. The field events will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the running events to start at 6:30 p.m.
"We're very excited for the opportunity to host our first meet, especially at this outstanding facility," said Lake Erie head coach Bryan Harmon. "We expect a very competitive field of both collegiate and post-collegiate athletes."
The GaREAT track facility opened earlier this year and is a 240,000-square foot facility that houses the nation's only eight-lane 300-meter synthetic track. GaREAT is located at 1822 South Broadway in Geneva, at Route 534 and Interstate 90. For more information on the facility: www.gareat.org/track.html.
