PAINESVILLE, OHIO -- The Lake Erie College men's track and field team will send two members to represent the school at the 2012 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships in Mankato, Minn. March 9-10. The NCAA Selection Committee announced Tuesday (Feb. 28) that sophomore Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) and junior Isaac Snyder (Salesville, Ohio/Buckeye Trail) qualified for the national meet for the second straight year and will look to recaputre All-American status.
Dudley is seeded second in the high jump with a season-best of 7' 2 1/4" set last weekend in winning the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship. He placed third in the event at last year's NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.
Snyder, meanwhile, qualified seventh in the heptathlon. He took second last week at the GLIAC meet with a school-record 5,029 points in the multi-event. He was eighth last year at the national championships, registering 4,943 total points.
This marks the second straight season Lake Erie will be represented at the national indoor meet and the fifth straight track and field national meet overall. Live coverage of the National Championships will be available on NCAA.com.
