EUGENE, Ore. - Lake Erie College rising junior Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) will be competing at the 2012 United States Track & Field Olympic Trials on Friday (Jun. 22) in the high jump for a chance at qualifying for a spot on the 2012 United States Olympic Team,
The Trials will take place at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon. The high jump will begin Saturday, June 23, at 4:20 p.m. Pacific Time (7:20 EST).
Dudley qualified for the Olympic trials with the 13th best high jump nationally this year. He cleared 7' 4 ½" twice this season, including last month at the 2012 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships to become Lake Erie's first individual national champion.
Out of 24-athlete field, the top 12 throws will advance to the finals of the high jump competition on Sunday (Jun. 24).
