NEW ORLEANS -- Sophomore high jumper Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) was one of 384 women to earn a spot on the All-Academic individuals list while the Lake Erie College women's track and field team was named an All-Academic Team for the fourth straight season when the squads were released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association July 24.
Prusky received the honor following a 16th-place finish in the high jump at the 2013 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either indoor or outdoor seasons.
This is the second straight year that Prusky has been tabbed for the All-Academic Team.
A total of 92 institutions earned the distinction of All-Academic Team as a result of earning a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or higher. Lake Erie posted a 3.04 GPA during the season.
