BAY CITY, MICH.—Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the Hillsdale Tune-Up Saturday (Feb. 22).
Known for his high jumping prowess, Dudley set a school and facility record with a provisional qualifying leap of 7.34 meters (24 feet-one inch) in the long jump to capture first-place. The jump, his first of the season, was the second best in the GLIAC this year and ninth overall in the country.
Dudley is the second Storm jumper to be named Field Athlete of the Week this year, joining teammate Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates-Chili).
The Storm compete at the GLIAC Championships this weekend.
