ALLENDALE, Mich. – The 2014 outdoor season came to a close with the conclusion of the NCAA-II National Championships on Saturday. The Lake Erie men's squad garnered two more points with an All-American performance by Joe Postwaite in the triple jump and placed in a tie for 22nd place in the meet.
Postwaite carded a season-best 15.31-meter (50-06.75) performance in the triple jump to earn seventh and add two points to the eight Jamil Dudley garnered on Friday.
In other action on Saturday, Destiny Prusky placed 16th in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.65 meters (5-05).
The triple jump was Postwaite's second event on the week at the Grand Valley Track and Field Stadium in Allendale, Michigan. The junior from Rochester, New York, notched a 14th-place performance in the high jump on Friday. His 50-foot, top-eight finish on Saturday earned Postwaite the fourth NCAA-II All-American performance of his career. Postwaite is headed to the U.S. nationals in the triple jump, having posted a qualifying mark of 15.70 meters (51-06.25) at the NCAA-II indoor title meet in March.
St. Augustine's (N.C.) won the 2014 men's outdoor championship, collecting 112 points over the three days in Western Michigan. Lincoln (Mo.) won the women's title with 64 points.
