Storm Nets Several Top Finishes at Aggie Invitational

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- The Lake Erie College track and field team finished near the top in several events at the NC A&T Aggie Invitational Saturday (April 11) in Greensboro, N.C.

Douglas Moorer (Copley, Ohio.Copley) won the discus throw with a toss of 47.85 meters (157'). Moorer also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.59 meters (44'7"). Sean Stone (Newton Falls, Ohio/Southeast) won the hammer throw with a toss of 54.44 meters (178'7"). Jimmy Ritt (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) took second in the event with a throw of 48.90 meters (160'5"). Kurtis Taylor (Holland, Ohio/Springfield) placed seventh in the javelin with a throw of 41.11 meters (141'5").

Cody Graybeal (Shiloh, Ohio/Crestview) took fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.90 meters (12'9.5"). 

Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.80 meters (48'6.75"). Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany/Sportgymnasium Chemnitz) took eighth in the event with a jump of 13.30 meters (43'7.75"). Matthew Mrosko (Wickliffe, Ohio/Wickliffe) placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 1.90 meters (6'2.75").

Jordan Sensabaugh took fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.21 seconds.  Braden Burk finished eighth in the steeple chase with a time of 10:51.72.

Danielle Corbin (Atlanta, Ga.) finished second in the long jump with a leap of 5.60 meters (18'4.5").  Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) also had a second place finish for the Storm, clearing 1.60 meters (5'3") in the high jump.  Marie Hall (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) and Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill./Bishop Noll) took third in the event, clearing 1.55 meters (5'1").  Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) finished second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.23 meters (36'10.25"). 

Hannah Brehm-Gutting took fourth in the discus throw with a toss of 40.05 meters (131'5"). 

Ashley Pryce (Stow, Ohio/Stow Munroe Falls) finished fifth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.13. Sara Moore (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst) placed sixth in the event with a time of 1:06.39 while Gina Henley finished eighth with a time of 1:10.37.

The 4x400 team of Shelby Carpenter (New Lebanon, Ohio/Miami Valley), Ariana Jorgensen (Kleinburg, Ont./Emily Carr Secondary), Lee and Hobbs finished fourth with a time of 49.29 seconds. 

The Storm is back in action next weekend at the Walsh Invitational.
