Storm Concludes Competition at GLIAC Championships With Several Top Finishes

HILLSDALE, Mich.—The Lake Erie College track and field team concluded competition at the 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships Friday (May 1) at Hillsdale College.

Ariana Jorgensen (Kleinburg, Ont./Emily Carr Secondary) took seventh in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.45.

The Storm 4 x 100 relay team consisting of Jorgensen, Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga./Tucker), Asya Hobbs (Lynwood, Ill./Bishop Noll) and Danielle Corbin (Atlanta, Ga.) finished seventh with a time of 48.59.

Lee also placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 11.90 meters (39'0.5").

Destiny Prusky (Newton Falls, Ohio/Newton Falls) cleared a personal best 1.73 meters (5'8") in the high jump to finish second in the event.

Kaitlyn Menges (New Philadelphia, Ohio/New Philadelphia) took eighth in the shot put with a toss of 13.47 meters (44'2.5"). 

The Storm women finished 12th overall with 22 points.

Joe Postwaite (Rochester, N.Y./Gates Chili) finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 14.74 meters (48'4.50").

Douglas Moorer (Copley, Ohio/Copley) took third in the discus with a toss of 54.83 meters (179'11").

Shavon Thompson (St. Andrew, Jamaica/Ardenne) placed sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.04 seconds.  Thompson also placed in the 200 meter dash, taking eighth with a time of 22.52 seconds.

The Storm men finished 10th with 25 points.
