GENEVA, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they competed in the Midwest Open at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio. "We had some ups and downs today, but more on the positive side for sure" said head coach Grant Lofdahl.
The Storm men were led by Jake Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) who had a solid outing in the 3000 meter, as crossed the finish line in a time of 8:43.13 minutes, which broke the school record.
Andre Husain Jr. (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Holy Name) placed third in the 60 meter dash in a time of 6.94 seconds, which is his personal best.
The Storm distance medley relay team of Graham, Jordan Sensabaugh (Akron, Ohio / St. Vincent-St. Mary), Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic), and Vincent Horning (Stow, Ohio / Stow) took third in a time of 10:10.58 minutes, which was just shy of a school record.
Pritchard also won his heat in the mile but placed fourth overall with a time of 4:19.59 minutes.
Sean Stone (Newton Falls, Ohio / Southeast) took fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.47 meters or 54 feet.
The Storm women were led by Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) as she took first in the triple jump clearing a distance of 11.35 meters or 37 feet 10 inches.
Gina Henley (Akron, Ohio / Akron HS) had her best day in a Storm uniform as she set a school record in the 3000 meter, in a time of 11:24.96 minutes.
Lake Erie will be back on the track Friday (February 5th) when they compete in the D-II Team Challange at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
