PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action all weekend starting Friday (February 26th) as they compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships at Tiffin University.

Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "This is the meet we've been training for since the fall. The national championships are great and we hope to have several qualifiers, but GLIAC is the biggest meet of the season for our program". "The high level of competition is great because it pushes our athletes to become the best they can be, and to perform on the big stage. To even score a point at this meet means you're a very good D2 athlete. We feel we have the chance to surprise some people in a number of events", said coach Lofdahl.
The Storm men placed eighth and the women placed ninth in the GLIAC Championships last year. Coach Lofdahl said "The focus is always on the team score, and to beat our totals from last year would be a successful meet. I'd like to see the women get over 20 points and the men get over 25. That should put us in the top-10 on each side."
