PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be in action this weekend when they compete in the Midwest Open at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.  The Midwest Open is a two day meet with events on Friday (Jan. 27) and Saturday Jan (28).

Storm Report:  The Storm is coming off of a solid weekend.  Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) set a Division-II provisional mark in the long jump.  DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) broke his school record for the second straight week.  Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) also won the triple jump for the Storm at the Youngstown Invitational.

Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "Should be great competition in all events. Danielle Corbin hit a Provisional mark in long jump last week, and we're hoping to see a few more of those at SPIRE. We're getting healthier, slowly but surely, and we just want to continue to improve a little bit more each week".

Coach Lofdahl added "With this being our only competition of 2017 on our "home" track at SPIRE, it's a definitely more important to us than the average mid-season invitational. We're hoping to see a lot of Storm supporters there on Friday night and Saturday, and we want to put on a good show for our hometown fans".

Forecast: Lake Erie will return to the track Friday (Feb. 3) when they travel to compete in the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic.
