PAINESVILLE, Ohio – The Lake Erie College track and field team will be sending Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) to the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships.
Corbin qualified for nationals in the long jump and is the only member of the Storm to qualify. Head Coach Grant Lofdahl said "Danielle has had a great indoor season, and this will be the icing on the cake for her. It's her first time qualifying for the national championships, and she'll have an opportunity to be our second ever All-American in women's track and field. We're very excited that she's earned this opportunity".
In addition to Corbin qualifying for nationals, the Storm had three athletes named U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region. For the women Corbin was All-Region in the long jump and Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) was All-Region in both the triple jump and long jump. For the men Jordan Pritchard (Painesville, Ohio / Lake Catholic) was All-Region in the 800 meters.
Coach Lofdahl added "Jordan and Nadia had great indoor seasons as well, and All-Region is a big honor for them. Coming up just a little bit short of GLIAC titles and of qualifying for nationals is a hard pill to swallow, but I know they'll be even more motivated to do some great things over the next couple of months during the outdoor season".
Corbin will be at the NCAA Indoor National Championship meet Friday (March 10) and Saturday (March 11) to compete in the long jump.
