WINTHROP, S.C. – The Lake Erie College track and field team was in action today as they wrapped up their competition at the Adidas Invite.
The Storm women were led by Danielle Corbin (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Walnut Grove (Ga.)) as she took first place in the triple jump, clearing a distance of 11.97 meters (39 feet, 3.25 inches). Nadia Lee (Tucker, Ga. / Tucker) cleared a distance of 11.45 meters (37 feet, 6.75 inches) which earned her third place honors in the triple jump. The jumps by both Corbin and Lee were personal bests. Brenda Johnson (Bellefontaine, Ohio / Bellefontaine) set a personal best in the Javelin as her throw cleared a distance of 32.91 meters (108 feet).
The Storm men were led by DJ Graham (Gomer, Ohio / Columbus Grove) as he set a school record in the steeplechase with a time of 9:27.84 which earned him second place honors. Christopher Vogel (Kirchberg, Germany / Sportgymnasium Chemnitz) took fifth in the men's triple jump as he cleared a distance of 13.41 meters (44 feet).
Lake Erie will return to the track Friday (April 7) when they travel to Mount Union to compete in the John Homon Invite.
