PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- Five Storm players scored in double figures as the Lake Erie College women's basketball team remained unbeaten in 2010 with a sound 91-60 win over Ursuline College on Tuesday (Jan. 12) night at the Jerome T. Osborne Family Athletic & Wellness Center.
The victory extends the Storm's winning streak to five, its longest since the 2007-08 season when Lake Erie established its school-record of eight straight victories.
Sophomore guard Jen Caiola (South Russell, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) led all scorers with 21 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including five three-pointers. The Storm nailed a season-high 12 treys in the game.

The Storm (13-8) went on a 12-0 run after falling behind 3-0 and never looked back against an Ursuline team that struggled to hold on to the ball, giving away 25 turnovers, leading to 28 points off turnovers for Lake Erie.
The Arrows' Cierra Mitchner hit a three-pointer to cut the Storm lead to 23-18 with 12:03 left in the first half, but the Storm went on a 17-3 run over the next six minutes to gain a 40-21 lead.
Lake Erie eventually stretched its lead to 22 points after a Caiola three-pointer and led by 21 at the intermission.
Sophomore pivot Stephanie Rogers (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor) had 16 of her 20 points in the first half, while also chipping in six rebounds and two blocks in the first 20 minutes. She finished with seven rebounds, three rebounds and three steals.
Lake Erie did not shoot particularly well (42 percent, 33-for-79), but had a huge advantage in rebounds (52-36), second-chance points (23-8), and points off turnovers (28-13). The Storm also converted 13 of 16 free throw attempts.
The Storm also limited the Arrows to just 39 percent (23-for-59) shooting and just 37 percent (7-for-19) from beyond the three-point arc.
Sophomore guard Britt Busson (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) kicked in 14 points and a career-high five steals as the fifth Storm player in double figures.
Freshman point guard Sarah Wojciechowski (Randolph, Ohio/Waterloo) added eight points and a career-high seven assists.
It was the seventh time Lake Erie has scored 80 or more points and the fifth time five Storm players have scored in double figures. The Storm is 4-1 in those games.
Lake Erie will now get an 11-day break before returning to the floor in a home battle with Urbana University. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m
