HOME SLATE CONCLUDES ON SATURDAY: Lake Erie welcomes Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division foes Hillsdale (Mich.) and Findlay to Painesville, Ohio, for the Storm's final two home games of the 2013-14 season. The Green & White will host the Hillsdale Chargers on Thursday and then wrap up their home schedule with a Senior-Day Saturday tip against the Findlay Oilers. LEC heads into the two-game home stand on a three-game losing streak. The Storm are 2-1 over their last three games at the Osborne Athletic Center; they are 3-7 at home for the season as a whole.
SCOUTING THE CHARGERS: Hillsdale is 5-1 over its last six games, and that stretch was preceded by a loss at the hands of the Storm. LEC downed the Chargers, 62-54, in Hillsdale, Mich., on Jan. 23. Since that date, the Chargers offense has been in high gear. Hillsdale has averaged 82.2 points per game over its last six. That surge has the Chargers now tied for third in the GLIAC South. ... HC is 5-4 on the road. ... F MEGAN FOGT is shooting 59.6 percent from the field and ranks second in the GLIAC in scoring, at 20.1 PPG.
SCOUTING THE OILERS: Findlay snapped a three-game losing streak with a win over Tiffin last Saturday. The Oilers will be at Ashland on Thursday. UF heads into Thursday's action two games begin Hillsdale, in fourth place in the GLIAC South standings. ... The Oilers rank in the middle of the GLIAC pack in scoring and defense. They are the league's top team in turnover margin (plus-6.8) and the last-place squad in rebounding margin (minus-8.3). F MARGARET WUEBKER is Findlay's leading scorer. She is averaging 12.9 PPG. Wuebker went 7-of-8 from the floor in scoring 17 points against LEC in the Storm-Oiler meeting on Jan. 25. Those 17 points were half of a double-double; she had a game-high 11 rebounds that day.
